St. Louis Fire Department Debuts Fire Apparatus

Wednesday, the department showcased new trucks and ambulances purchased with some of the money to media members, in an effort to be as transparent as possible with the public.  

“Behind me is proof your fire department has been, and will continue to be good stewards of your hard-earned tax dollars,” Chief Dennis Jenkerson said while flanked by new fire engines. “We want to thank you, the citizens of St. Louis, for provided us with these tools to protect you.

Jenkerson says some of the trucks they were working with previously were 20-years-old. In ordering the new engines, the department worked on designing trucks in a different way.

Three Indonesian Firefighters Killed in Fire Apparatus Accident

The three firemen who were killed are Bahram Khan Samsuddin, Imran Jafar and Fadli Panai. The firemen who were injured are Amir Alamri, Ahmad Afandi Podungge and Alpian.  

“The bodies of the dead victims have been taken to their homes, while the injured victims are being treated at Poso Regional General Hospital,” Poso Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Bogiek Sugiyarto told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.

He said the accident took place around 9 a.m. local time, when the fire truck was on its way to a scene of fire in the northern part of the city. On taking a curve in the road at a high speed, the fire truck encountered a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

New Hope (NC) Fire Apparatus Overturns

According to an accident report by Trooper D.S. Payne of the N.C. Highway Patrol, Don Irwin Chamberlain, 49, of 8445 New Hope Road, Denton, was driving the 2013 Freightliner truck east on Burney Mill Road. The vehicle traveled onto the south shoulder of the road, then back on the road out of control, according to the report.

One passenger was listed on the report, Bradley Matthew McDowell of 6386 Volunteer Rescue Road, Denton. Damage to the truck was estimated at $100,000.

Fire Line Equipment Starts Expanding Headquarters in New Holland (PA)

Completion is expected in August or September. The project will lead to at least three or four new hires at the 20-employee company.

“We’re out of shop space, we’re out of office space, we’re out of every kind of space,” said Tim Ashworth, who owns the company with Ron Fink. “We have people on top of people here.”
