The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Cleveland fire station heavily damaged after being hit by two cars

Cleveland Fire's Public Information Officer Mike Norman tells Fox 8 that the doors of the station are "totaled."

The drivers of the cars, all male, were taken to hospitals by Cleveland EMS. Their injuries are all minor.

No firefighters were injured, and they will be able to make runs because the station is built so that trucks can leave from either side.

Expanded Cumberland fire station on time, on budget, for spring opening

With the station’s administrative section demolished in May, in its place and on a neighboring property now stand a two-story addition, along with a lower level accessed off a planned 27-space parking lot for visitors. An existing parking lot with 22 spaces for staff remains, along with the station’s apparatus bay.

The approximately 18,000-square-foot building is about three times the size of the original.

“We’re trying to plan for at least 50 years ahead,” Town Councilor Bill Stiles said. “We’re hoping we’ll go for 75.”

Appleton Fire Department Reopens Station #4 After Weeks Of Renovations

Earlier in the year an engineer discovered the floor could give out and determined it needed to be repaired and replaced.

Battalion Chief, Joseph Strauss said station number 4 was built in 1961 and is the only fire station with a basement under where the department keeps its rigs.

When the station was built, the floor was rated to hold only 10,000-15,000 pounds. The department's rig weighs nearly 40,000 pounds.

Fire Truck Collides With 2 Vehicles In NE Philadelphia

Video from Chopper 6 showed a passenger vehicle which appeared to have collided head-on with the fire truck. Another passenger vehicle with heavy front-end damage was seen a short distance away. The video showed medics transporting one person on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
