DMI Delivers Real-Time Emergency Command Center Functionality to Mobile Devices

DMI, a global leader in end-to-end mobility solutions, announced today the availability of its Endzone Platform, a mobile-centric enterprise platform that increases responsiveness and efficiency in emergency situations. Historically, situational awareness solutions have been command center-centric, where critical field information is relayed to a central command team and then actions shared back out to the field. EndZone flips that model on its head to enable federal agencies, field operating teams, first responders, law enforcement, and security management teams to direct and take action, and work and respond in real-time scenarios all from a mobile device.

“First response and field work is dependent on real-time situational awareness and clear, integrated communication,” said Jay Sunny Bajaj, DMI Founder and CEO. “To address this need in the market, we’ve combined the best of breed in user experience from the commercial markets and lessons learned from our work with federal agencies. EndZone delivers the best of both worlds in a user-friendly format to help those on the front lines stay safe and better perform their jobs, giving teams the eyes, ears, and real-time data they desperately need today to become more agile and secure on the ground.”

EndZone addresses the need for rapid and personal communication for organizations in both public and private sectors. By utilizing the “smart notification” approach, field team members can quickly provide a much clearer picture of their personnel in high intensity situations. These capabilities provide those on the front-line a holistic view of high-risk situations and the ability to better perform their job functions. The platform provides:

●     Unique instruction and engagement through dynamic geo-fencing technology which can move with a person and/or device to manage a particular radius of space around the person or team;

●     Highly secure communications - EndZone is FIPS 140-2 certified and utilizes AES 256-bit encryption;

●     Increased contextual awareness provided from DMI’s patent-pending, real-time video streaming technology and can view up to eight fixed and in-motion cameras including traffic cameras, EndZone mobile devices, security cameras, cameras mounted in police cars, mobile phones, etc; and

●     Increased safety for responders with improved data sharing and communication capabilities, knowing commanders are “with them” in high intensity situations.

“Whether responding to an emergency or operating in enemy territory, first responders are under immense pressure. In high-stakes environments, a positive and simplified user experience is more critical than ever, but too many men and women in the field currently don’t have access to real-time, integrated communication and information,” said Paul Garrett, CTO of the Ashcroft Group. “Having the ability to communicate with each other in the field and at the command center, along with access to critical information in the moment make all the difference in completing a safe and successful mission.”

As an opt-in emergency notification system, EndZone is a scalable, cloud or on-premise solution that provides the capability for networked communications (4G, LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Coverage on Wheels (COW), and satellite) to align with location-based technology while keeping individuals safe during a crisis. New Rescue Truck for OC Fire Department

Click here to view this article from TheDerrick.com.
Fire chief Mark Hicks said the estimated replacement cost for the previous truck was $90,000 but that the new truck was purchased for $41,000. Hicks said the lower cost was a result of a different design and new ideas on how best to optimize service, including carrying the rescue tool on a fire engine rather than in the rescue truck.

New Pumper Increases Amherst Fire Department's Capacity to Fight Fires

The Amherst Fire Department recently received a 2018 pumper from Metal Fab in New Brunswick. The pumper, valued at more than $500,000, is now in service and replaces a 10-year old pumper that will now be used as a reserve. "This is a huge addition to our department," Chief Greg Jones said.
The pumper has more room for crew and the compartments are lit by LED lights, which places less strain on the truck.

Jones said the department began reviewing its needs about four years ago and a new pumper was quickly identified. It’s the first full fire truck the department has purchased in 10 years.

Fire-Dex and Community Celebrate Facility Expansion

Groundbreaking at Fire-Dex expansion

Together with Medina (OH) city officials, residents, and employees, Fire-Dex celebrated its 29,000 square-foot expansion with a ceremonial groundbreaking on Monday, September 25, 2017. With more than 50 people in attendance, the event was a resounding success.

The expansion, which extends to the South of the existing building at 780 South Progress Drive, will include new offices, an on-site training facility, two additional truck bays, and a larger shop floor. In addition to the structural build, the new space will bring at least 30 more jobs to the city of Medina in the next three years.

For Fire-Dex, the expansion symbolizes its ongoing commitment to providing sustainable business practices and ensuring the nation’s firefighters and paramedics remain safe and protected head-to-toe with top quality gear.

The project is pending final approval of incentives from JobsOhio. “We are delighted that Fire-Dex plans to expand in Medina,” said Christine Nelson, Team NEO Vice President, Project Management and Site Selection. “We will work closely with JobsOhio and local partners to ensure the company continues to be successful in their important work of developing new solutions that keep firefighters safe.”
