Littleton (MA) Firefighter Seriously Injured After Fall from Fire Apparatus

A firefighter from Littleton is in serious but stable condition after he injured his neck while on the job. Firefighter Scott Holt fell from a fire engine while "performing routine tasks" inside the department's temporary headquarters" on Saturday, officials said. He was treated immediately at the station and then taken to Worcester Hospital.
A fund has been opened by friends to help Holt and his family during his recovery. Those that wish to donate can do so at the Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union under “The Scott Holt Fund.”

Gallatin (TN) Fire Department to Purchase New Fire Apparatus

As the City of Gallatin Fire Department's Rescue 1 fire truck returned to the station Tuesday morning just after 9, the crew explained that the last call had been their third call of the morning. Fire Chief Victor Williams explained that the truck was the department's second busiest truck, responding to only six less calls last year than Engine 1.

With recent mechanical issues, the city has invested funds into keeping up maintenance, and last night, the Gallatin City Council voted to appropriate $398,255 for the purchase of a new truck.

Henry County (GA) Fire Apparatus and Ambulance Purchases Approved

The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of five new Braun ambulances for the Henry County Fire Department at its Sept. 6 regular Commission meeting. The cost for the vehicles is $1,071,050. The purchase of two Zoll Cardiac Monitors and three Zoll Auto Pulse CPR Devices were also approved for $89,519.56.
In a related resolution, the HCFD was also awarded the purchase of two Pierce Stock Saber pumper trucks, purchased through the Fleet Services budget at a cost of $870,010. Funds for this equipment for each purchase is a part of the capital purchase project approved at the board’s Aug. 1 meeting.
