According to the department, in the last 4 years, they have lost 3 firefighters to cancer. Two of those firefighters were Nathaniel Crump and Gavin Wright.

Duncan Adds $780,000 Aerial Ladder Truck

Fire Chief Dayton Burnside said the department now has two aerial ladder trucks and four pumper trucks. The other aerial ladder is a 1998 model, which is to be transitioned to reserve status.

"We've put together a committee of firefighters and officers to look at different designs that other departments around us are using and hopefully come up with a design that'll work for us," Fire Chief Brad Davies said.

Once the design process is over, they just have to wait for it to be built and delivered.
