Ambulance to Be Placed in GA FIre Station

Folks who live out in Ochlocknee and rural Thomas County may soon see faster emergency response times. An ambulance will be placed at the Ochlocknee fire station starting on September 5th.
WTVM had a update on additional EMS service for one stretch of rural Georgia.

Arkansas Opts In To FirstNet

ARKANSAS (KFSM) -- Efforts are underway to streamline communication between first responders in Arkansas. Governor Asa Hutchinson announced Arkansas will opt in to the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), becoming one of the first states in the nation to participate. FirstNet is forming the first nationwide public safety broadband network to provide advanced communication and collaboration.
KSFM reported on the state of Arkansas opting into FirstNet, the first nationwide public safety broadband network for firefighters, police, and other first responders.

Instead of relying on multiple radio networks, FirstNet will be a single way for emergency crews to communicate, stretching nationwide.

Man Steals East Moline (IL) Fire Apparatus, Nearly Crashes into River

One of East Moline, Illinois' newest fire trucks suffered heavy damage after a man almost drove it into the Mississippi River. Police say Nathan Stottler allegedly stole the fire truck while its crew was inside an East Moline business doing an inspection. Hampton resident Sharon Ayers knew something was wrong right away.
The police said Stottler allegedly stole the fire truck while it was parked outside a business in downtown East Moline. The crew was inside conducting an inspection. The truck wasn't on, but it wasn't locked either.
