Ambulance Stolen from Maryland Hospital Recovered

An ambulance stolen from a hospital in Washington's Maryland suburbs has been recovered outside a convenience store. Local news outlets report a Prince George's County fire department transport unit with no patients inside was stolen on Tuesday from a hospital in Cheverly, and tracked to a 7-Eleven store two miles away.
Fire department spokesman Mark E. Brady says a suspect had been taken into custody, but further details were not released.

This is the second reported time in less than two months that an ambulance has been stolen from Prince George's Hospital Center.

Construction on Kenosha (WI) Fire Station to Start Next Year

Work on a new fire station for the Kenosha Fire Department could begin next year. Two fire stations are set to close and be merged into a "super" station on the site of the shuttered Bain Elementary School, 2210 52nd St. The two stations considered for closure: Station 3, 2121 Roosevelt Road, and Station 5, 2125 Washington Road.
Firefighters and city officials say Station 5 is not able to accommodate larger fire trucks and is in desperate need of repair.

City officials have said no firefighters would lose their jobs, and there may even be a need for increased staffing for the house.

The station, similar to Pleasant Prairie’s new station at 3801 Springbrook Road, would also allow emergency crews to respond more quickly to areas of the city with high demand. And by freeing up resources, the move allows each station in the city to have its own ambulance.

Asbestos (NY) Removal at Kingston (NY) Fire Station 'Substantially Completed'

Asbestos removal at Kingston's Central Fire Station on East O'Reilly Street is largely done, the city engineer says. Ralph Swenson said he has signed a "substantially completed" document regarding the work in the building at 19 E. O'Reilly St. in Midtown.
The project, though reported in May to have been slowed by paperwork problems, was completed in June, Swenson said.

The work was done by Syracuse-based NRC Inc., which was awarded the contract after an April 3 coin toss at City Hall, necessary because NRC and Sauquoit, N.Y-based Sullivan Contracting submitted identical bids of $42,000.
