IWE Transports Dennis Fire Engine to Boston

Logistics firm Independent Wholesale Express has transported a decommissioned fire engine to Boston, Massachusetts, from the UK. The Dennis 1995 Fire Engine was initially transported by road from Birmingham to the south coast where it was lashed to a flatbed. Once secured the cargo was transferred to an ocean vessel at the port of Felixstowe for shipment to Boston.
“The fire engine arrived into the U.S., cleared customs, and was delivered to the museum in Boston where it can now be viewed as a piece of British manufacturing history, being one of the last models before Dennis Fire Engines closed their doors in 2001 after 100 years of trading,” a spokesperson for IWE said.

With that, he said, “We’re probably going to list (the property) on the MLS (Multiple Listing Service).”

At the request of Hotshot family members, the council agreed to delay advertising the Station 7 parcel to allow time for an alternative plan.
