Firefighting Helicopter and Navy Helicopter Collide Midair at CA Airport

A U.S. Navy helicopter and a Firehawk operated by San Diego Gas & Electric collided Tuesday evening, November 22 near San Diego Brown Field. There were no injuries in the incident.

News 7 reports that the collision involved a Navy MH-60R Seahawk and a UH-60A Firehawk that is assigned to SDG&E for firefighting purposes.

The Navy helicopter had three crew aboard. Both aircraft landed safely after the collision, which occurred at about 6 p.m..

Christmasville (NY) Fire Truck Parade Tops 200 Trucks in 15th Year

What started out as 19 trucks in a small parade 15 years ago this year brought more than 200 fire trucks to Lancaster from seven counties in two states.

The event has grown each year and is a fundraiser for the Greater Lancaster Museum of Firefighting.

This year’s event was the largest yet.

Burton (MI) Fire Truck Collides with SUV while Responding to Fire, Causing Rollover Crash

A city of Burton fire truck was involved in a crash with an SUV on its way to a structure fire Saturday afternoon, officials say, MLive.com reported.

At about 2:10 p.m. Saturday, crews from the Burton Fire Department were heading to the scene of a reported structure fire when they passed through an intersection at South Center Road and Lippincott Boulevard, the report said. A fire engine following other emergency vehicles through the intersection hit an SUV, the report said.

The truck had lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash, and had slowed down before crossing the intersection, a fire official said.

The SUV rolled over due to the impact, and received significant damage, the fire official said. The fire engine suffered moderate damage to its hood and front bumper, according to the report.

No one in either vehicle was injured. The driver was the only occupant of the SUV, the report said.

Public Invited to Tour New West Natick (MA) Fire Station No. 4

The West Natick Fire Department invites the public to tour its new station during an official dedication ceremony on December 3, NatickReport.com reported. Tours of the facility will begin at 10 a.m., with a formal dedication ceremony at 11 a.m.

West Natick Fire Station No. 4 at 268 Speen Street was completed in July 2021. The 17,000 square-foot station is ADA-compliant and has all the bells and whistles, including five double-deep apparatus bays; training areas; enhanced safety measures; and more, the report said.
