M180™ Three-in-One Exterior Light

Code 3®, Inc. introduces the M180 exterior light—a 3-in-1 light that combines an intersection light, takedown light, and puddle light into one compact housing.

The Code 3 M180 can be mounted anywhere an MR6™ can, making it an extremely versatile light. In addition to MR6 mounting locations, new bracket offerings for all pursuit vehicles including under the side mirror, in front of the side mirror, and side window mountings make it an extremely versatile light. A grommet mount is optional. The M180 comes in red, white, blue, green, and amber. There are 29 single-color flash patterns. The M180 syncs with existing Chase™, MR6 and Mega Thin™ LEDs, making it incredibly easy to integrate into an existing setup.

The M180 meets SAE J845 and J595 Class 1 specifications and California Title 13 photometric requirements when properly configured. It is 12-24 VDC and runs 0.9 amps @ 12 VDC. The M180 is tested to withstand temperatures from -40°C to 77°C. There is a 5-Year Warranty on the LEDs.

Commercial Truck Bed Extension

Alpharetta, GA—Metcam has announced that TramBed 2.0, its patented commercial truck bed extension, will soon be available on the Truck Candy Web site. Although Truck Candy sells internationally, its headquarters are U.S.-based in Glendale, Arizona.

TramBed, which was introduced in 2015, is an aftermarket, slide-out truck bed with welded, adjustable, power-coated legs. With a TramBed installed in the factory truck bed, operators enjoy a convenient in-field work surface that places all their machinery and materials within easy reach. They can also transport up to 2,000 pounds of cargo in the TramBed and slide it out for quick access with complete stability and support. Metcam recently unveiled TramBed 2.0, an enhanced version available at a lower price thanks to the economies of fabricating a mature product.

Key features of TramBed 2.0 include:

  • Heavy-duty construction includes an all stainless steel deck and factory-welded, powder-painted extension rails and legs.
  • The easy-slide extension’s specialized design reduces the potential for finger-pinching and ensures the tram extension remains in a controlled position.
  • The TramBed extension is 20 percent longer than the typical truck bed extender.
  • TramBed is also optimal for use with a forklift, because loads do not have to be “evenly distributed” as they do for typical truck bed extensions.
  • The base model is designed for a standard (eight-foot) truck bed, with versions available for other bed lengths.
  • Shipping in the continental U.S.A. is included in the price.
  • Units arrive completely preassembled and ready for rapid installation.

DJI Launches Aerial Zoom Camera

DJI has launched the Zenmuse Z30, its most-powerful integrated aerial zoom camera, unlocking new possibilities for industrial applications.

The Z30’s zoom capabilities mean it can collect precise visual data from more than 100 meters and focus in on extremely precise details from distance.

The Zenmuse Z30 seamlessly integrates with DJI’s Matrice airframes. It will work right out of the box, offering up to a 30x optical zoom and an additional digital zoom up to 6x. It can stabilize to within 0.01 degree.

Users can zoom with just a tap of the finger. The Zenmuse Z30 is fully integrated into the DJI Go app. With the new TapZoom function, the gimbal will reorient towards the object when tapping it on your screen. With each tap, the Z30 camera will automatically adjust its focal length to give an enlarged view.

The Zenmuse Z30 offers users faster, safer and more-precise inspection services. For cell tower inspections, airframes equipped with the Z30 camera can operate well beyond the range of cell tower’s electromagnetic fields and livestream footage to engineers anywhere in the world.

The Z30 can also remain at a safe distance while inspecting a wind turbine, yet still show the condition of vital parts in detail. With “Point of Interest” tracking feature, the aircraft circles the turbine at a constant distance, keeping the object in the center of the camera frame.

First responders should now be able to use the 30x zoom to quickly get an overview of a scene and collect accurate and specific information to better plan their rescue operations.
