KME, a member of REV Group, has announced that the Los Angeles County (CA) Fire Department has awarded it an order for 20 custom pumpers. The purchase includes a contract provision for fire departments nationwide that allows them to “tag-on” to the contract and take advantage of the discounted pricing until December 31, 2016. The apparatus will be built on KME’s Severe Service™ cab and chassis. The pumpers have 500-hp engines and air ride rear suspensions for improved vehicle ride and handling. The pumping systems feature 1,500-gpm midship pumps and 250-gpm auxiliary pumps for pump-and-roll operations. The trucks feature 500-gallon water tanks and 25-gallon Class A foam tanks. Each apparatus is equipped with a KME Lock-N-Load™ hosebed cover.
AMKUS RESCUE SYSTEMS has announced its intent to acquire 911 Tools, a U.S. vehicle stabilization equipment and lifting systems manufacturer. The 911 Tools rescue strut product line, which is marketed under the RescueStrut brand name, includes accessories that allow emergency responders to transform vehicle stabilization struts into other life-saving rescue tools such as manual hydraulic rams and shoring struts, as well as tripod, bi-pod, and mono-pole adapters for use in rope rescue scenarios. The RescueStrut line of equipment will be marketed under the AMKUS brand and distributed by AMKUS and 911 Tool distributors within their existing territories.
SAFE FLEET has announced a number of new hires. Each new associate will be focusing on the Safe Fleet Emergency Market brands: Elkhart Brass, ROM, FoamPro, and FRC. Jay White, a former Los Angeles (CA) firefighter, joined Safe Fleet as the western regional sales manager. His territory includes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Dean Hutt joins Safe Fleet as midwest regional sales manager. His territory includes Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Jason Witmier is the new Safe Fleet northeast regional sales manager. His territory includes Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Vermont.
