The Cowlitz Indian Tribe recently purchased Engine 23, a Rosenbauer fire truck, for Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue.

The tribe also blessed the new engine, which will replace the 20-year-old apparatus housed at Station 23; it will be the first-due apparatus for emergencies in the La Center community and throughout the Cowlitz Indian tribal lands.

A Springfield fire truck collided with an SUV Thursday morning, reports newschannel20.com.

Fire officials says the accident happened around 8:45 a.m. near the intersection of MLK and Cook Street.

The SUV hit the engine and then crashed into a light pole, according to the report. No firefighters were injured, but the driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The fire truck sustained significant damage to its front end.

The truck, destined for DeKalb County Fire Rescue in Dekalb County, Georgia, will be available to see in Sutphen Booth #3324 in the Indiana Convention Center Thursday, April 28 through Saturday, April 30.
