The Tuesday afternoon event took place on the Thompson Road location where the previous Station 42 once stood and where a new version will soon take place.

Mayor Peyton Jamison gave opening remarks recalling his first visit (around 2017) to the old Fire Station 42, recognizing then it was due for an upgrade. That 3,800-square foot building was built in the 1970s and turned over from Fulton County to Milton in 2006 at the time of the City’s incorporation.

Midland (MI) Fire Department to Purchase Three Pumpers for $1.8M

Following city council approval, the Midland Fire Department will have three new Sutphen G2 Pumpers—totaling $1,842,085—within the next couple of years or so, reports ourmidland.com.

Officials estimate that the department will take delivery of the trio of fire trucks between March and May 2024.

The department already has a Sutphen ladder and engine in each of the city’s three fire stations, the report says.

Conor Wright, of Front Royal Volunteer Fire and Rescue, entered a plea deal in the Strasburg Road crash, and his charge was reduced from the class 1 misdemeanor of reckless driving, the report says.

Also, Wright was issued a $500 fine with $100 suspended, and he must stay out of trouble for a year and pay $74 in court costs. He faced up to 12 months in jail and a fine of upward of $2,500 as well as court fees, according to the report.

The incident happened as Wright was driving a fire truck east on Strasburg Road with two colleagues on their way home from a call, according to the report. The apparatus swerved to avoid rear-ending a vehicle and then collided with a westbound 2013 Toyota Tacoma.
