Four people were seriously hurt after an SUV crashed into a Chicago fire truck on the Southwest Side of Chicago, officials said, ABC7Chicago.com reported.

The crash happened early Sunday morning on the outbound Stevenson Expressway at Cicero Avenue, according to the report.

Details are limited, but Chicago fire officials said the truck was stopped at another accident scene when it was hit, the report said.

Officials said no firefighters were hurt in the crash. Further information was not immediately available.

Chicago fire officials and police said the truck was stopped at another accident scene when it was hit. Four people, the SUV’s driver and passengers, were transported to a local hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead, the report said.

Officials said no firefighters were hurt in the crash. Further information was not immediately available.

San Diego police on Friday arrested a man suspected of setting multiple fires earlier this month that damaged and destroyed lifeguard property at a fire station in Pacific Beach, officials said.

On Jan. 7, a fire was reported at 1:30 a.m. behind San Diego Fire-Rescue Station 21 on Mission Boulevard near Reed Avenue in San Diego, said San Diego police Sgt. Rick Pechin. The fire involved a watercraft that belonged to the city’s lifeguard division.

A second fire involving another lifeguard vehicle was reported later that morning around 3:35 a.m.

“The fire spread and ultimately destroyed a second vehicle and damaged a third,” Pechin said in a statement.

Following an investigation by the San Diego Metro Arson Strike Team, a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the fires. He was booked into jail for multiple counts of arson to property.

Residents in Cassatt (SC) learned in October that the county was building a new fire station and taking its volunteer fire station into a full-time, 24-hour operation, News 19 wltx.com reported.

The current volunteer station is located on Red Hill Church Road, but construction has begun on a new station on U.S. Highway 1, beside the Dollar General in Cassatt.

There is, however, frustration over why, with 12 acres to work with, the plan is to build the fire station beside a resident’s home, the report said.  

After around 10 days of calls to the county, and a online petition to move the site signed by over 60 community members, a decision was made to delay construction until after Tuesday, Jan. 24, the report said. 

Newly elected Kershaw County Council Chair Katie Guinn released this statement to News 19:  

“The construction of the Cassatt Fire Station was stopped by the county administrator. There were questions that could not be answered regarding the location of the station and the usage of the additional land (12 acres total). This Tuesday, January 24th, County council will meet, and on the agenda is an update from the administrator on the Cassatt Fire Station. I expect council to make a decision on how to move forward with this project after the update and all pertinent questions are answered.” 

The Spokane Fire Department put out a garage fire that prevented further damage at a home in North Spokane early Saturday morning. SFD responded to reports of a garage fire on North Victor Street in between West Lyons Avenue and West Houston Avenue. Firefighters who got to the scene found a working fire in a connected garage of a one-story home.
