2 people, several pets found dead in Clark County house fire

Two people, as well as several pets, have been found dead after Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue responded to a house fire early Thursday. Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue and Clark County Fire District 3 were dispatched just after 4:30 a.m. following a call reporting a “loud bang” and flames coming from a home in the 24000 block of NE 50th Avenue.

Fire destroys former Collins Fruit warehouse in Monitor

PHOTOS: The former Collins Fruit warehouse in Monitor is a total loss after an early morning fire today. A report of a fire visible from the highway came in at 1 a.m. for the fire on Main Street, according to Wenatchee Valley Fire Department spokeswoman Kay McKellar. Main Street in Monitor was closed from the intersection of Warehouse Road and Pioneer Road to Highway 2.

Retired firefighter recalls how Salvation Army came through in the most unexpected way

Gary Girod can’t pass a red kettle without placing at least a couple dollars inside. When the retired firefighter sees a Salvation Army volunteer with a bell, it also takes him back more than 60 years. Fire destroys home in Selah

The Selah Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at a residence on the afternoon of December 15. According to the SFD the intensity of the fire made it manpower intensive. Six agencies and fire districts worked on the fire, including Selah, the Yakima Training Center Professional firefighters and Yakima County Fire District 4.

Grays Harbor Fire District 2 and Aberdeen firefighters extinguish shed fire

PHOTOS: Firefighters from Grays Harbor Fire District 2 and the Aberdeen Fire Department responded Tuesday afternoon to a fire on Aberdeen Lake Road. A robust response and good cooperation between the departments allowed firefighters to rapidly extinguish the fire with no injuries reported, said Lt. James Sande of District 2.
