California: Unanswered questions remain in USS Bonhomme Richard fire

VIDEO: A Navy arson trial is about to get underway, more than two years after fire destroyed the USS Bonhomme Richard. The trial comes as the Navy continues to unravel why the fire became one of the worst peace-time disasters in Navy history. Beginning on July 12, 2020, the USS Bonhomme Richard burned for nearly five days in the San Diego Bay.

Fallen Firefighter Memorial ceremony returns to Colorado Springs after two-year hiatus

VIDEO: The 36th annual International Association of Fire Fighters Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremony returned to Colorado Springs Saturday. Approximately 8,000 guests were in attendance for the first of the event since the pandemic began. “The inability to be together took its toll on all of us," IAFF President Edward Kelly said.

Seattle: Fire erupts in 3-story building in Pioneer Square

A building fire in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood shut down two blocks of traffic on First Avenue Monday morning. Seattle fire said that just after 6:30 a.m., a fire was reported in a building off Cherry Street and First Avenue. Seattle Fire Department spokesperson Kristin Tinsley said the fire started on the second floor of the building above a 7-Eleven store.

Arsonist reportedly sets fire to Bremerton motel, displacing 50 occupants

A weekend fire drove dozens of people out of a motel in Bremerton, and authorities said they believe an arsonist is responsible. Early Sunday morning, a two-alarm fire broke out at the Midway Inn on Wheaton Way. Officials said firefighters helped some of the 50 people inside reach safety. They also said some of the evacuated people needed medical attention.
