Brush fire jumps Yakima river, requires large response

VIDEO: A brush fire broke out off I-82 in Yakima Wednesday evening, Sept. 7. According to a Facebook post from Yakima Firefighters IAFF Local 469, a large fire that started on the west side of the river near Target jumped the river. This required East Valley to respond. Officials haven’t said what caused the fire, but did say it was “easily avoidable.

VIDEO: Railroad ties go up in flames in Nevada, causes unhealthy air quality

PHOTOS: According to Churchill County Manager Jim Morby, the fire has burned the entire railroad tie yard and the smoke is traveling west and northeast of Fallon. Multiple agencies are working together in battling the fire, including local and municipal, alongside the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Florida county’s new simulator to train area firefighters to battle airport fires

Towering orange flames 100 feet tall. A billowing plume of thick black smoke. An aircraft engulfed in a blaze.
