The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), in partnership with Pierce Manufacturing Inc., announced the 2022 IAFC Fire Chief of the Year honorees. Volunteer Fire Chief, Marshall Turbeville, of the Northern Sonoma FPD in Sonoma County, California, and career Fire Chief, Gary Ludwig, of the Champaign Fire Department in Champaign, Illinois, have been named this year’s honorees.

PHOTOS: The Everett Firefighters Association is asking for the public’s help to find its custom trailer that was stolen in late July.
The association discovered the custom-built 1991 20-foot Garland Flatbed trailer was stolen from its meeting hall in the 2400 block of Hewitt Avenue in Everett.
The trailer has faded red paint with gold-leaf pinstripes along its sides.

Crews said a fire burned a garage and spread to a home in West Seattle early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 2:19 a.m. in the 4500 block of 23rd Avenue SW in the north Delridge neighborhood, near the playfield. Seattle fire said crews had water issues but were able to put out the fire using a nearby hydrant.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at approximately 3:33 p.m., Asotin County Fire crews were dispatched to a wildland fire in a canyon just west of Silcott Road approximately 10 miles west of Clarkston in Asotin County.
According to a release from Asotin County Fire District #1, the Blankenship Fire was hard to reach with ground crews, so Washington State Fire Mobilization was requested to assist with air support and additional ground crews.

A house caught fire for the second time in the past 24 hours on Thursday morning.
Fire crews aren’t sure if the house — on 196th Avenue SE in Renton — reignited or something else contributed to the second fire shortly after 4 a.m. The incident comes after crews battled the first fire at the two-story home on Wednesday.
