Mt. Pleasant has a new fire engine and rescue apparatus hybrid that is equipped with a 1,500 gallon per minute HALE pump and an on-board tank with a capacity of 300 gallons, reports The Daily Herald.
The fire truck will be used for emergency medical responses, motor vehicle accidents and to pull an innovative firefighting foam trailer. The foam trailer, supplied by partnerships with the Maury County Office of Emergency Management and Solvay, a local chemical manufacturing company, is used to respond to all major flammable liquid fires across Maury County.
The small size and power of the new fire engine will allow for the rapid deployment of the trailer.
