“I got into it because I was told I physically couldn’t do it. And can’t is not in my vocabulary.”

VIDEO: An eight-passenger private plane took off from Lafayette Regional Airport on the morning of Dec. 28, 2019, at around 9:20 a.m. with six people on board. By 9:21 a.m., the plane had crashed near the U.S. Post Office on Feu Follet Road, killing five of the plane’s passengers and sending a total of four people — including the plane crash’s sole survivor — to local hospitals.

VIDEO: Emergency crews are rushing to distribute bottled water to flood-ravaged eastern Kentucky. The deadly flooding damaged water systems and the availability of clean drinking water is scarce.

A wildfire three miles south of Lind on Thursday destroyed approximately six homes and several other structures. One firefighter was sent to a hospital in Spokane in eastern Washington due to smoke inhalation.
The fire started at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Thursday and burned 2,000 acres, according to the Washington State Fire Marshal.

Fire crews continue to battle a wildfire in Whitman County that grew to 6,000 acres overnight and is threatening homes, crops, railroads and infrastructure.
The fire started near Ridpath Road, south of Hay, and was reported around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, the fire has spread along breaks of the Snake River and has made its way to the Central Ferry area.
