Firefighters deploy boats to extinguish fire on Edmount Island in Snohomish County

PHOTOS: Firefighters worked to put out a brush fire on Edmount Island near Mountlake Terrace Sunday morning. According to a news release from South County Fire, smoke could be seen near the lake and the fire was reported shortly after 5 a.m. Fire officials stated the fire burned in a 25×25 feet area of peat and other brush.

1 hospitalized after Kent house fire

VIDEO: One person was hurt and a family is displaced after a house fire overnight in Kent, officials said. Crews with Puget Sound Fire and Renton Regional Fire Authority responded to a report of a residential fire on 134th Place Southeast after midnight Friday. Fire officials said a family of four was asleep inside the home when their smoke detectors sounded off and evacuated safely.
