Masonic Hall in Maine destroyed in fire 20 years ago

VIDEO: 20 years ago Monday, the city of Bangor lost of a piece of history in a devastating fire downtown that gutted the Masonic Hall. “Unprecedented,” said Bangor Fire Department Assistant Chief Greg Hodge. “We’ve never seen anything even remotely close to that. I can’t remember the number of millions of gallons of water that was flowed onto that fire.

Driver killed in fiery crash into south Seattle building after reported hit-and-run

VIDEO: Police are investigating a fiery crash into a building in south Seattle involving a driver who allegedly fled a multi-car collision at a nearby intersection Sunday night. Seattle Police Department (SPD) spokesperson Det. Judinna Gulpan said a 34-year-old man hit two cars stopped at a red light on the 9400 block of Martin Luther King Jr.

80 firefighters dispatched as flames, smoke poured out of Seattle building

VIDEO/PHOTO: Seattle fire crews had a busy Saturday night as they battled an empty building fire. The Seattle Fire Department said around 11 p.m., they got reports of a fire in a one-story vacant building in the 300 block of Northwest 85th Street near the borderline of the Crown Hill and Greenwood neighborhoods.

Cause of death, memorial service announced for Walla Walla firefighter

Firefighters in Snohomish County offer tips for warmth and safety during winter weather

Temperatures are dropping to frigid lows in western Washington this weekend. First responders and local groups are working to ensure people are indoors and safe in the winter conditions. Firefighters with South County Fire have been preparing to respond to emergencies during the cold blast. "We have some snowplows ready so that we can clear a way for our rigs to get out to 911 calls because they’re always responding, no matter the weather," said Leslie Hynes, public information officer for South County Fire.
