Idaho fire engine stuck in sinkhole after water main break

PHOTO - Roads remain blocked on the Boise State campus Tuesday morning after a water main break caused flooding and sent a fire engine into a sinkhole. The water line that ruptured Monday evening ran under University Drive near the Student Union Building. The intersection of University Drive and Lincoln Avenue will be closed through Wednesday morning, or until road repairs are done.

Man charged with scuffling with police during Pennsylvania fire

A New York man who pushed past firefighters to remove a package from a burning building is facing aggravated assault charges after getting into a scuffle with police, according to court documents. Michael R. Davis, 39, of Brooklyn, is accused of resisting arrest after repeatedly entering a cordoned area of a house fire burning Sunday night at South Sherman and East South streets.

‘It was a horror show’: Mass shooting leaves more than 50 dead, 400 wounded on Las Vegas Strip

A gunman opened fire on an outdoor country music concert from a Mandalay Bay hotel room late Sunday, killing at least 50 people, injuring more than 400 and sending the Las Vegas Strip into chaos. The massacre is the deadliest mass shooting in United States history. As officers entered the suspect’s room, 64-year-old Mesquite resident Stephen Paddock died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, police confirmed early Monday.

Oklahoma volunteer firefighters quit amid disagreement with board

Eight volunteers submitted resignations from the Bugtussle Volunteer Fire Department prior to last Wednesday night’s special board meeting. Tension arose when Bugtussle Fire Chief Trevor Tannehill and board member Jered Weeks had a disagreement during the September monthly board meeting, according to Chris Trainor, who was one of the firefighters to submit a resignation.
