Atlanta has work underway on four new stations, and Mayor Andre Dickens is asking for four more.
After touring some of the city’s deteriorating fire stations and listening to stories about broken equipment and staffing issues, Dickens told Fox 5 an increase in the department budget is in the works for his June budget proposal.
Dickens also is asking voters to approve bond measures on the May 24 ballot. One of the measures has $58 million included for fire house improvements.
