PHOTOS: The Baltimore City Fire Department’s largest boat could be used to rescue a cargo ship that has been stuck in the Chesapeake Bay since mid-March, according to the local firefighters’ union.
The Baltimore Firefighters IAFF Local 734 said in a social media post on Sunday that the fireboat has the ability to help with operations to safely remove the Hong Kong-flagged ship Ever Forward from the bay.

A Zillah landmark has been destroyed in a fire Sunday evening. Plumes of heavy dark smoke could be seen for miles.
The blaze started at about 7p.m. at the Stonehenge Tavern in downtown Zillah.
Firefighters say as far as they know, everyone made it out safely.
A small neighboring building also burned; crews say it was used as storage space for the tavern.

Early on Sunday morning, March 20, the Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to reports of a possible fire at a single wide trailer home on the 6600 block of E. 8th Ave.
Initially, information from the call suggested an electrical problem with no smoke or fire, indicating a single engine response for the issue.

Just before midnight Thursday, flames burst from an encampment near the intersection of NW 85th Street and Mary Avenue Northwest in Crown Hill
One neighbor lives a couple of blocks away. She’s lived in the community for two decades and says the fire is just one of many ongoing problems from there.
“I’ve seen people harassed while walking by sidewalks blocked with debris, drugs, needles, human waste.

Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One is planning to ask voters to fund its capital facilities plan this summer with an $80 million bond. Voters would see the proposal on the Aug. 2 primary ballot. It would cost the owner of a $500,000 home $9.90 a month for 20 years, according to the agency – an estimated 24 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value.
