An Everett apartment fire that broke Wednesday afternoon is now being investigated as arson. The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Estates in the 1000 block of 130th St. SW. Neighbors found a little girl wandering outside and detectives are trying to figure out if her mom may have set the fire.

Nobody was injured and firefighters rescued a dog from a Wednesday afternoon apartment fire south of Everett. An employee housing building at Lake Crescent sustained heavy damage in a fire Tuesday night. Clallam District 2 Fire-Rescue reported that it responded to the call for a structure fire at Lake Crescent Lodge at 6:51 p.m. One of the employee housing four-plex units was on fire; the flames were reported spreading into trees and underbrush.
