Georgia firefighters move back into station after mold sickened staff

Milton firefighters returned Monday to an upgraded Fire Station 41, having spent months being hosted by their Roswell colleagues while needed mold remediation work was completed. Station 41, at the intersection of New Providence Road and Arnold Mill Road/State Route 140, closed last November after an air quality assessment found high levels of black mold spores in its bunk room and elevated levels in its common areas.

Firefighters battle two-house blaze in Prosser

Dozens of firefighters from multiple agencies raced to fight a garage fire Tuesday evening that quickly spread to a second home. Investigators say people living in the first home were working on a vehicle’s fuel pump in the garage when the fire started. Firefighters got the call for help just before 6:00P.

Holmdel Township (NJ) Fire & Rescue Company 2 to Christen Apparatus, Station in April

Holmdel Township Fire & Rescue Company Number 2 has announced that the public dedication of its new fire station as well as its Pierce 2021 Enforcer, Engine 18-77, wet-down ceremony will be held Saturday, April 30 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 12 Crawfords Corner Rd.

The company notes that there will be food, guided tours of the facility, viewings of the fire truck, events for children, and more.

More information will be available as the date gets closer.

“Thank you to our residents and community for their ongoing support of our fire company!” a Facebook post reads.

Nashville (NC) Fire Department to Receive $1.3M for Second Station

The $1.5 trillion 2022 Omnibus Spending Bill signed into law last week will see $1.3 million given to the Nashville Fire Department to go toward its long-standing plan to build a second station, reports rockymounttelegram.com.

In August 2020, town officials acknowledged the need to accommodate growth in certain areas by cutting response times with another facility. The proposed station had a projected cost of $1.4 million in 2020, the report says.

The new digs will be taller and deeper than its predecessor, and it will likely be built on Oak Level Road.

Officials say that the $1,338,750—part of $22,798,291 in Community Project Funding secured by U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-1st District—is still being administered.

Update: Fire that destroyed Stonehenge Tavern an accident, investigators say

Zillah fire officials have ruled out arson as the cause of a blaze that destroyed the Stonehenge Tavern and seriously damaged a hardware store Sunday. An investigator hired by the city determined that the fire was accidental and that no foul play was involved, fire Chief Paul Stonemetz said Tuesday.
