Limerick (PA) Fire Department Apparatus Involved in Crash En Route to Call

A Limerick (PA) Fire Department apparatus got into an accident last week on its way to a call, reports Patch.com.

The truck, with its emergency lights and sirens flashing, was traveling through the intersection of High and Keim streets just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when it collided with another vehicle, the report says.

Officials say there were no injuries to any firefighters or passengers in the other vehicle. Police officials are investigating the cause of the incident.

Sidney (NE) Fire Department Unveils Engine 31

The Sidney (NE) Fire Department recently unveiled its new, nearly $500,000 Engine 31.

Engine 31 holds 750 gallons of water, 25 gallons of foam, and seats six firefighters. Officials say it should be ready for action in January; it will replace a 1992 engine.

The department saved reserve funds for about five years to make the purchase, and the Nebraska Community Foundation donated the remaining $43,000 or so.

Cedar Hill (MO) Fire Protection District Takes Delivery of 2021 Pierce Pumper

The Cedar Hill (MO) Fire Protection District recently took delivery of its new 2021 Pierce Enforcer pumper.

Crews will spend a few weeks training on the apparatus, which will be stationed at House 2 in Oermann.

The pumper holds 1,000 gallons of water, a 30-gallon foam cell, a cafs compressor, and a 1,250-gallon-per-minute pump.

The department says the truck will be dedicated to the memory of Battalion Chief Marvin Shaffrey at a dedication ceremony later this month.

Maysville (NC) Fire & EMS Receives $261k AFG Grant

Maysville (NC) Fire & EMS was recently awarded a $261,100 AFG grant for which it applied in 2020, and the department says it must cover 5% of the total cost which will go toward air packs.

“The AFG grant is a grant developed to provide assistance to firefighters in getting required and necessary equipment,” the department says on Facebook. “This grant has provided all three stations—Maysville, Belgrade, and Loco—with 37 air packs with spare bottles.

“This equipment will provide us the ability to replace old, outdated equipment and keep our firefighters safe when called to duty.”
