The Butler (PA) Fire Department is expecting to receive a $1.35 million aerial later this month after the city made the final payment on the new apparatus, according to a report published by ButlerRadio.com.
The radio station said the new aerial is a 2021 Pierce 100-foot mid-mount tower built on an Arrow XT cab and chassis. It will replace a 1998 aerial the city sold about three years ago in partially functioning condition, the station reported.
The new aerial is at a facility in Zelienople where it is being fitted with radios and other equipment as well as undergoing final inspection, the station reported.
Butler officials ordered the new aerial about a year ago and have been making payments while awaiting delivery, the final payment of $490,000 was approved this past week, the station reported.
