FAO Schwarz and the Uniformed Firefighters Association helped bring holiday cheer Sunday to the children of fallen firefighters. Firefighters extinguished a house fire in Gig Harbor on Monday morning. The fire appeared to significantly damage the home and one occupant was transported to the hospital. The fire occurred at a home on 87th Street, according to a tweet from Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One. Three people were evacuated from the home, one of whom was hospitalized.

A fire destroyed an abandoned house Sunday night in Puyallup. Firefighters with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue were called to near the 13900 block of Meridian Street and arrived to find a heavy fire. Firefighters performed an offensive attack on the fire before they were able to put it out. No injuries were reported.
