Bicknell (IN) Fire Department Takes Delivery of New Pumper

The Bicknell (IN) Fire Department has a new pumper, reports vincennespbs.org.

City officials say it’s the first fire apparatus purchased for the city since 2004, and it replaces a truck that was more than 20 years old.

Spokane Officials Agree to Allow Unvaccinated Fire Workers to Return to Non-Medical Jobs

The number of vacancies in the Spokane Fire Department due to Gov. Jay Inslee's vaccine mandate continues to dwindle. The city and Spokane Firefighters Union have reached an agreement that will bring three unvaccinated employees back to dispatch and one to the Fire Prevention Bureau. A fire mechanic will also be allowed to return to work thanks to updated guidance from the Department of Health, according to city spokesman Brian Coddington.

Twisp Renews Fire Protection Contract

Lots of news out of Twisp, which has renewed its fire protection contract with Okanogan County Fire District 6 for at least one more year, the Town Council agreeing to a $60,000 contract for fire services, an 11.6% increase over the previous two years. The fire district’s board of commissioners had approved the contract renewal earlier.
