Plow Truck Used to Break into, Rob East Hampton (CT) Volunteer Fire Department Station

A search for a suspect(s) is underway after someone used a plow truck to break into the East Hampton (CT) Volunteer Fire Department’s Company #3 station.

“I Write to you today to ask for your help in identifying the person (or persons) that decided breaking into The East Hampton Volunteer Fire Department’s Company #3 station was a good idea,” a Facebook post reads.

“Overnight on 1/24/2022 someone used a plow truck to push in the overhead doors and gain access to our fire house. Luckily the only things we can determine that were taken was some tools and a toolbox, which if you knew us we would have gladly let some one borrow.

“What is of greater concern is the destruction of the overhead doors and building that rendered the door inoperable, this cost thousands of dollars to repair and and rendered the apparatus behind the broken door useless. Thankfully we did not have a call overnight requiring that apparatus to respond.

“If you live in the neighborhood, or if you were in the area and saw anything suspicious please contact the East Hampton Police Department, or call me direct 860-221-5505.

“We are back in full service and stand ready to serve as always, Thank you for your continued support.”

Death almost came for North Dakota firefighters battling downtown arson 22 years ago

PHOTOS: Virtually every time firefighters Mike Hendrickson and Jesse Schmidt pass by the empty lot on the west side of Broadway in downtown Fargo, they think about the day nearly 22 years ago they almost died there on the job. Reflecting on the arson fire at the Tropics nightclub on Sunday, April 30, 2000, can prompt a visceral response.
