Four people were injured, one critically injured, in a three-car crash near Clayton.
According to Stevens County Fire District 1, firefighters received a call at 5:30 p.m. regarding a crash at Swenson Road and Highway 395 intersection. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident. Stevens County firefighters reported that the highway/intersection remained closed at 7 p.

PHOTOS: It’s been easier for local fire jurisdictions to get air support during this year’s wildfire season.
A new law, House Bill 1498, went into effect last year, which allows the Washington Department of Natural Resources to assist local and tribal fire crews with their aerial support planes and helicopters during the initial attack phase of a fire.

A Clarksville auto shop was destroyed by a fire Thursday afternoon, according to fire officials. Clarksville Fire Chief Brandon Skaggs said crews were called around 2:45 p.m. to Appeleaf Lane about a structure fire.
A witness on the scene said the building was an auto repair shop.
Skaggs said firefighters arrived in about 5 minutes, and the building was fully engulfed, with flames going through every window and door.
