Fox Township VFD (PA) Welcomes Fire Apparatus

The Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department has added a new mini-pumper to its fleet, reports The Daily Press.

Posted to the fire department’s Facebook, “The new mini-pumper has made it to Pennsylvania. Members of the truck committee were in Mill Hall, PA today at Glick Fire Equipment Company to inspect and deliver equipment that will be mounted by the dealer. It should be making its way home in a couple weeks. We will then train on the unit so our personnel are able to operate it efficiently. Hopefully it will be in full service in September. This will be the 17th unit to service Fox Township in the department’s 84 years.

The biggest difference with this new truck is that it carries about 1/3 less water than the larger trucks about transports about 1/3 less water from the hydrant hose as well. A fire official said this comes as a trade-off in the while losing some capacities, the size of the truck allows them to gain access to more places.
