King, Pierce County firefighter unions push back against Governor Inslee’s ‘vaccination or termination’ mandate

Sources in fire departments across King County told KIRO 7 a solid 30% of on-duty firefighters, paramedics and EMTs are not vaccinated for COVID-19 now. And in some fire stations, they told us that number is close to 40%. Some firefighters told their unions they won’t get vaccinated to abide by Gov.

Twenty-Five Mile Fire near Chelan at 10,500 acres; 8% contained

The Twenty-Five Mile Fire burning near Chelan is now listed at eight percent contained as fire behavior is expected to increase as warmer weather returns. The fire has burned more than 10,500 acres since sparking Aug. 15 on the south shore of Lake Chelan. One structure has been lost in the blaze, according to incident command.

Charleston (SC) Opens Fire Station That Honors Fallen Firefighters

Charleston’s newest, multimillion-dollar fire station is now open roughly three years after a ground breaking, reports WCSC 5.

The new station sits directly adjacent to the Charleston 9 Memorial, which is at the site of the 2007 fire at a furniture store that killed nine firefighters.
