Crash into Tacoma building may have started fire

A crash into a building may have sparked a fire in Tacoma. Tacoma Fire crews were called to a commercial building in the 1900 block of Marine View Drive around 7 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the building. Everyone inside was able to get out safely. Crews are working to put out the main fire and checking to see if it spread to adjacent buildings.

Man thrown from truck, killed in rollover crash near Mica

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal rollover crash that threw a man out of his truck near Mica. The Sheriff’s Office received a call from someone saying they came across the crash site on Belmont Road. The caller told authorities a truck had gone off-road down an embankment and crashed.

Fire chaplains called to serve Snohomish

The minutes and hours after loss or tragedy can feel like a deluge of unfamiliarity; plans to make, people to call and questions to answer. In Snohomish, the chaplains of Fire District 4 are at the ready to bridge the gap to better days. “Our entire purpose is to help other people in times of need, in times of stress, when difficult things happen,” said Dana Uplinger, chaplain coordinator for the fire district.

City of Hurricane (WV) Release Design of New Fire Station

The City of Hurricane is building a new station for the Hurricane Fire Department and has released a design mock-up, reports WSAZ.

Officials are hoping to break ground around September or October and hope to complete the project by next July. The current fire station was built nearly 50 years ago by volunteer firefighters. The new station is expected to provide space for the larger apparatus, an office and training facilities.

Swansea (MA) Voters Approve Fire Station Study

Swansea voters agreed exploration of whether to rebuild or expand several of its fire stations, reports The Herald News.

Up to $150,000 of free cash will be used for a feasibility and design study for a new Fire Station 1 and possible expansions to Fire Stations 2 and 4.

The study will help officials better understand the current state of the fire stations and may not signify actual construction plans.
