General Motors Warns Some Bolt Owners To Park Outdoors Due To Fire Risk

General Motors is telling owners of some older Chevrolet Bolts to park them outdoors and not to charge them overnight because two of the electric cars caught fire after recall repairs were made. The company said Wednesday that the request covers 2017 through 2019 Bolts that were part of a group that was recalled earlier due to fires in the batteries.

FDNY Boxing Club Getting Ready For First Fight Night Since Pandemic Began

The FDNY‘s boxing club is getting ready for its first Fight Night since the start of the pandemic. FDNY firefighter Niko Negron is taking on Brooklyn EMT Javier Rosario in an old-fashioned grudge match. “True grudge matches, guys that maybe didn’t get along on the job, maybe had a little score to settle and have decided to settle it like gentlemen in the ring,” said Bobby McGuire, president of the FDNY Boxing Club.

‘We’re all on high alert’: Spokane firefighters face challenges as wildfire season intensifies

There have been more than 900 fires in Washington so far this year. Some in Spokane have been in the Urban Wildfire Interface. These are homes that are close or in areas with trees and brush. With the dry conditions, it increases the chances of a fire happening. On Wednesday afternoon, this exact scenario happened in Liberty Park.

Red Apple Fire may have been sparked by illegal burn, Chelan County sheriff's office says

Authorities in Chelan County said Thursday that a wildfire that was threatening hundreds of homes earlier is believed to have been sparked by an illegal burn that grew out of control. The Red Apple Fire began just before 7 p.m. Tuesday in Chelan County near Wenatchee and although no injuries have been reported so far, the blaze did prompt a Level 3 evacuation order.

Firefighters hope to fully contain 15,000-acre Chuweah Fire by next Friday

The lightning-caused fire that continues to burn directly adjacent to and east of Nespelem about 20 mintues north of Coulee Dam has torched over 15,000 acres. That’s according to InciWeb, an official online fire resource page. As of Wednesday morning, the fire is demonstrating active behavior including torching, backing and running.
