And those who organized the donation are looking to send over even more.

The La Crosse Fire Department dedicated a new fire engine to a local firefighter who died decades ago, reports WIZM News.

The new Quint 1 truck bears the name of Engineer Jim McCormick. He died shortly after experiencing chest pains at a fire scene on Thanksgiving Day of 1957.

The ceremony was disrupted in the middle of a speech by La Crosse Mayor when responders ran to the scene of a vehicle rollover.

The average vehicle in the fire department has a life span of 20 years.

The city council has approved a measure to acquire additional vehicles to support the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, reports Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The fire department will receive three new tractor-drawn aerial fire truck apparatuses and three new 1500 gallons-per-minute pumpers in 2022. They will receive an additional two new tractor-drawn aerial fire truck apparatuses and three new 1500 GPM pumpers in 2023.

The new fire apparatuses will allow help address fleet issues.

A historic but aging fire station will not be sold to private ownership, reports Voice of OC.

Residents voiced outrage over a number of sale negotiations around the building between Santa Ana City Hall and a home-builder construction firm.

The Cypress Fire Station is one of the last publicly-owned buildings in its neighborhood.

Community leaders are hopeful that the building can become a center for public services.
