Approximately 15.5 million Toshiba laptop AC adapters have been recalled by Dynabook Americas due to fire and burn hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to the commission, the recalled adapters can overheat and spark, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers.
The recalled AC adapters were sold both on their own and with Toshiba brand personal laptop computers.

Firefighters rescued an individual from a house fire in Washougal early Tuesday morning.
According to East County Fire and Rescue, crews responded to a fire involving a person with a disability trapped at a residence at 412 NE Blair Rd. early in the morning.
When firefighters arrived at the one-story structure, the fire was fully active, with a resident confirming that one person was trapped inside his bedroom.

The professional service contract promoting Interim Chief Noel Monin to Chief of San Juan Island Fire and Rescue was passed on Tuesday, Feb.13 by the commissioners of San Juan Fire District 3. Monin took the Interim Chief position in early November following former Chief Norvin Collins' retirement, and as the commissioners began drafting an Interim Chief contract for Monin, they decided to elect Monin as Chief and draft a contract to reflect the organization’s structural changes.

A 500-gallon underground propane tank was found at a Virginia home that exploded Friday, killing one firefighter and injuring others, officials said Saturday.
Loudoun County Fire and Rescue were called to the home in Sterling around 7:40 p.m. for a gas leak, Chief Keith Johnson said at a news conference.

VIDEO: The City of Tampa unveiled eight new vehicles on Monday as part of a multi-million dollar investment in fire safety.
“We’ve been waiting for quite some time and it really is a milestone,” Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said.
The city showed off eight new additions to its fleet, including three new fire engines, three advanced life support ambulances and two new Ambu-buses that can be used for mass casualty events and evacuations.
