There's a volunteer fire chief who is riding is bicycle to answer calls for help because the bridges in his town are out.
In a post, the State Fire Marshal talked about what Lockport Fire Chief Armand Autin is doing to serve his Lafourche Parish town. "Because the bridges are out due to Ida, Chief Autin is driving his truck to the closest bridge, then riding his bicycle across the bayou to respond to incidents," the post says.

For the first time in Graham Fire & Rescue's history, the department has an all-female crew.
"It can be a challenge to really have women even be interested in the fire service," said Graham Fire & Rescue Lieutenant Jill D'Len. "Not a lot of women think that it's a career that they can possibly pursue.

A man who was working on a semitruck on Sunday died after the truck came off its jack and pinned him to the ground, Puget Sound Fire said.
First responders were called to a home in Kent, where they worked to lift the truck off the man quickly.
After the man was removed, officials said he “did not survive his injuries.

One person has died in a crash just north of Sunnyside Sunday morning, according to Washington State Patrol.
Troopers say a car was traveling east on Arrowsmith Road, blew the stop sign, crashing into a semi that was traveling north on SR 241.
Officers say the sedan hit the semi's diesel tank, and the semi lost control.
