Gig Harbor Firefighters Mow Neighbor's Lawn After 911 Call

Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty: a recent 911 call in Gig Harbor ended up conscripting a few local firefighters into doing a little extra yard work. According to Gig Harbor Fire, earlier this week an elderly citizen called 911 to report a house fire. The caller had gone outside to mow the lawn, but had left food cooking on the stove top and forgotten it.

Tukwila apartment complex catches fire for third time

Fire crews are at the scene of an empty building at a Tukwila apartment complex Thursday morning, where a fire erupted for a third time. The same building at the Foster Creek Apartments in the 15100 block of Macadam Road South, burned twice last summer, Dawn Judkins, Deputy Chief of Mountain View Fire and Rescue said.

Anne Arundel County (MD) Fire Apparatus Damaged in Accident

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said a fire truck responding to a house fire was involved in an accident, reports Patch.com.

The accident sent two of the car’s occupants to the Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.

At the house fire, eight residents were displaced and a firefighter was injured.

Electric Fire Apparatus Makes Debut in Long Island (NY)

A first-of-its-kind electric fire engine was unveiled in Hicksville, reports ABC 7 News.

The truck can run fully electric for one and a half to two hours. A fire official said the electric truck helps greatly improve communication within the cab and at the scene of a fire.

Vehicle Crashes Into Los Angeles County (CA) Fire Station

A civilian vehicle crashed into a Los Angeles County Fire Station, reports KHTS.

The fire station is located in Santa Clarita and there are no reports of injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to officials.
