Texas Firefighter Injured in Fire Engine Crash

SANDIA, Texas – KRIS reports that a Sandia firefighter was injured in a rollover accident on an icy road while responding to a call.

Firefighters were responding to report of a fire at a church on County Road 360 on Monday at approximately 5:30 a.m. when the crash occurred.

Sandia Fire Chief Henry Barajas told KRIS that the injured firefighter was transported to Spohn Hospital in Alice with a possible broken arm or broken shoulder.

The call was a false alarm.

4 Texas firefighters taken to hospital after fire truck rolls over

Ohio city rolls out pilot program to deal with mental health crisis-intervention calls

A pilot program could leave first responders better equipped with additional training, tools and resources to handle the steady volume of mental health-related calls that come through emergency dispatch.
