Non-Profit Founded By Retired California Paramedic Helping Other Medics Manage PTSD

A retired North Bay paramedic is helping other medics manage their work-related post-traumatic stress through a non-profit group she founded. Officers who respond to emergencies from fires to protests can literally bring their work home. Former paramedic Susan Farren says that stress built up over time can haunt them in forms like depression, stroke, even suicidal thoughts.

35 years of saving lives: New Jersey township retires big yellow fire truck

A couple of years back, when a boat ran up on the rocks off Hess Pier in Atlantic Highlands, the borough’s fire department dispatched its ladder truck to the scene. The old 1985 Grumman Aerial Cat, with its 102-foot reach, came through. “We swung the bucket out across the water to pick people up who were stranded on the boat,” said firefighter Ed Cetron, who assisted in the rescue.

Two units destroyed in two-alarm apartment fire in Woodland

Firefighters with Clark County Fire and Rescue say a two-alarm fire destroyed two units, and damaged two others at a complex in Woodland Thursday night. The first call came in around 5:00 p.m. on a report of smoke coming from one of the units at the Woodlands Heritage Apartments along North Goerig Street.

Glucose Revival owner, Fairfield firefighter donates 220 blood sugar kits to law enforcement for diabetic emergencies

Local law enforcement will have a new tool on hand to help people having a medical emergency. Kris Maynard, owner of the company Glucose Revival and a firefighter at Fairchild Air Force Base, donated 220 blood sugar kits to local law enforcement on Thursday, in hopes of equipping every police officer and deputy with the tools they need to save a diabetic person’s life.

Like the brave superheroes they are, The Moses Lake Fire Department sprung into action when they got a call about a tractor/trailer fire on I-90. According to the Moses Lake Fire Fighters Facebook page, hot brakes were the cause of a trailer fire on I-90.
