Holy Hot Brakes Batman! a trailer fire on I-90 sent the Moses Lake Fire Department into action! Like the brave superheroes they are, The Moses Lake Fire Department sprung into action when they got a call about a tractor/trailer fire on I-90. According to the Moses Lake Fire Fighters Facebook page, hot brakes were the cause of a trailer fire on I-90.

Memorial Announcement: Lieutenant Jay Hughes

It is with heavy hearts that Spokane County Fire District 4 announces the death of Lt. Jay Hughes. Jay died Wednesday 1/6/2021 after succumbing to complications following a cardiac arrest that occurred while on duty at his regular job with Kalispell Tribal Police. He was 64 years old.

Jay worked for Spokane County Sheriff’s Department for 39 years, retiring several years ago at the rank of Lieutenant. After retiring from the Sheriff’s Department, Jay then continued his law enforcement career working for Kalispell Tribal Police. Additionally, he has served SCFD4 for nearly 18 years, currently as a Lieutenant with Battalion 4, and member of the D4SIU as a Fire Investigator. Jay was currently serving as the Chairman for Washington State Board of Volunteer Firefighters. Jay’s service to his community and the leadership he has demonstrated throughout his career will be sorely missed. He has left quite a legacy.

Man pleads guilty to possessing Molotov cocktails used in fiery Seattle protest

PHOTOS: An Edmonds man has pleaded guilty to possessing Molotov cocktail devices that he used to set fire to Seattle police vehicles during a May protest that turned violent. According to the plea agreement, 20-year-old Kelly Thomas Jackson made the destructive devices after researching how on the internet.

4 escape Monroe house fire

A couple and their two small children escaped a house fire early Wednesday in Monroe. A woman reported she heard a loud bang around 2:45 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Charles Street, according to the Monroe Police Department. She went outside to check on the noise and saw flames. The woman, a man and their two children — ages 1 and 2 — escaped unharmed, police said.

Fire Causes Significant Damage to Texas Church

VIDEO: An intense fire early Thursday morning caused significant damage to the New Light Church in Pleasant Grove. Dallas firefighters were called to the church in the 9300 block of Elam Road just before 1:30 a.m. and found flames burning through the roof. The fire was moving so quickly through the large one-story building that firefighters were forced shift to a defensive attack, fighting the fire from outside.
