VIDEO: Instead of Dasher, Dancer, and Prancer, a retired Redding firefighter has created his own handmade reindeer display in honor of first responders.
Patrick Westrip created the eight not-so-tiny reindeer out of cardboard and paper-mâché and painted blankets on each one to honor different first responders such as firefighters, law enforcement, and medical workers.

One person is dead, two paramedics injured after a shooting Thursday morning in Pine Bluff. Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of West 23rd Avenue at 4:30 a.m. and discovered the two paramedics suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to Pine Bluff investigators a third individual, 22-year-old Kevin Curl Jr.

Firefighting simulator The Squad just launched on Steam in November.
This new worldwide video game features fire trucks made right here in South Dakota.

During a disaster like an earthquake or a wildfire, one of the first things that can disappear is cellphone service.
But a Redmond-based company called Kymeta is making sure first responders can stay connected by developing a technology that could save lives.
The device, called the Kymeta U8 Terminal, is about the size of two large pizza boxes stacked on top of each other and can be mounted to any car.

Yakima Fire Department officials recognized some of the best in the department when the department presented its 2019 annual awards over the past few weeks during a series of Zoom videos.
Recipients were nominated by their peers in early 2020.
The award ceremony was originally scheduled for earlier this spring then re-scheduled and later canceled due to COVID-19.
