Spokane: 200 goats to help reduce fire risk by chewing away weeds at Hangman Park

Approximately 200 goats will be brought into Hangman Park to chew away at vegetation in an effort to mitigate fire risk. The goats will spend six days at the park, which the city said helps reduce the use of manual labor and expensive machinery. Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer has been committed to using goats for the project for months.

Fire guts home, kills dog in Basin City

Fire officials say a malfunctioning electrical outlet in a living room caused a fire that demolished a one-story home in the middle of Basin City Sunday evening. Barn In Centralia ‘Total Loss’ After Fire

A barn on Teitzel Road in Centralia was a “total loss” due to a fire that consumed the structure Sunday afternoon, according to Riverside Fire Authority. There were no injuries to fire personnel or the owners of the property, Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Anderson said, but a dog was treated for minor burns.

Voters within the confines of Fire District #2 are considering a Fire Levy Lid Lift on their General Election Ballots, and the district has scheduled a virtual meeting to share information to voters.. VIDEO: Strong Winds Fuel House Fire In Chicago Suburbs

Damaging winds caused significant damage around the Chicago area Saturday night, and strong winds may have even sparked a fire in the northwest suburbs.
