Holmdel Township had added a new fire truck to its fleet, reports Patch.com.

The 2021 Pierce Enforcer truck has a 750-gallon tank capable of pumping 2,000 gallons of water per minute and can seat up to six firefighters. 

The fire department’s fleet now has three Class A pumper trucks and one ladder truck.

Endicott Fire Department has replaced a fire truck that has been in service for 35 years, reports Binghamton Homepage.

The fire engine follows all the NFPA guidelines, has a top of the line motor, won’t drive if everyone is not buckled in, and can carry 800 gallons of water.

The fire truck was paid for using primarily federal grants.

Deputy Fire Chief Michael H. Bailey from the Snoqualmie Fire Department has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP) as part of the National Fire Academy. This four-year program consists of a rigorous curriculum, extensive research, and two weeks of training per year at the academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

An unknown odor at the downtown Charleston, SC, Fire Department station has forced its closure and sent eight firefighters to the hospital to be checked out, according to a report broadcast by ABC News 4.

The television station reported the odor was first noticed at the station late Wednesday night and the firefighters were checked at the hospital and released, the television station reported.

Crews have used meters to determine potential causes for the odor, but so far, nothing has been conclusive, the television station reported, adding that additional testing was expected to be done over the weekend.

City officials are looking to have an air quality assessment conducted at the station with no determination being made when the station can reopen, the ABC News 4 reported.

The apparatus at the station has been relocated and officials are saying response times should not be affected, the television station reported.

Two neighboring Indiana fire departments are looking to replace fire apparatus soon, and one community is doing so to replace a tanker that was totaled in a rollover crash in January, according to a report broadcast by radio station WKVI.

North Judson-Wayne Township is considering replacing the damaged tanker with a new one at the cost of about $200,000, but is also considering used and refurbished apparatus at considerable savings, the radio station reported.

Additionally, firefighters in Winamac have started looking for a new pumper with a price of between $200,000 and $400,000 to replace a 1994 model year unit with increasing cost to maintain it, the station reported.
