Coronavirus cases have increased in all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam over the past 14 days, the latest NBC News data showed Tuesday. And in a dozen of those states — Vermont, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Iowa, Ohio, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Kansas, Pennsylvania and New York — infections have spiked in the last two weeks, meaning there has been a 100 percent or more increase in confirmed cases over 14 days.

A natural gas pipeline beneath the Holiday Inn hotel ruptured Monday evening, causing an evacuation of the building. Authorities tell us that the hotel, located at 801 N Division, was evacuated safely after reports of a fire coming from a ruptured pipe under the hotel. The fire department successfully extinguished the fire and Avista reported to the scene shortly after to control the gas leak coming from the pipe.

The search continued Wednesday for a Tulalip police officer who was reported missing and presumed dead after the boat he was in capsized when a large rogue wave walloped the vessel during the rescue of another vessel near Jetty Island, authorities said. Police Officer Charlie Cortez disappeared after he and Officer Shawn Edge, the 39-year-old boat operator and captain, were thrown overboard shortly before 9 p.

A construction worker was seriously injured late Tuesday morning after a wall fell in a multifamily housing development being built in Lynnwood’s City Center district, according to South County Fire. At 11:10 a.m., dispatch received a call about an injury on a construction site located at 4100 Alderwood Mall Boulevard after a wall reportedly fell on a worker, trapping him.
