New Hampshire’s population is getting older, and the “Silver Wave” is having an impact on emergency services and town budgets.
New Hampshire has the second oldest population in the nation, with a median age of 43 years old, according to World Population Review. Only neighboring Maine has an older population, and Florida, known for its retirement communities, is behind New Hampshire with a median age of 42.

As 2024 kicks off, the upper Snoqualmie Valley is feeling a bit warmer, thanks to the efforts of local firefighters and the backing of the Snoqualmie Firefighter Association.
Firefighter Darby Summers took the lead on the Operation Warm project to get coats to kids in Snoqualmie schools who need them.

PHOTOS: A car was driven into a business in Lynnwood on Tuesday afternoon.
At about 12:30 p.m., firefighters with South County Fire responded to the business in the 2500 block of 196th Street Southwest in Lynnwood.
Officers with the Lynnwood Police Department were also at the scene.
According to South County Fire, the car did not hit any of the building’s structural supports.

A controversial wind farm that was set to be the largest in Washington has been slashed in half. The proposed project outside the Tri-Cities has raised concerns about endangered hawks and viewsheds. However, the project developer said these new restrictions could be bad for renewable energy development in the state.
