'FrontLine WarmLine' launches to help Maine’s health care workers and first responders manage emotional toll of COVID-19

Governor Janet Mills' administration announced Tuesday the launch of a new volunteer phone support service, the FrontLine WarmLine, to help Maine health care workers and first responders manage the stress of serving on the front lines of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The FrontLine Warmline serves health care professionals, such as physicians, nurses and counselors, as well as emergency medical services personnel, law enforcement, and others who are directly responding to the pandemic in Maine.

Yakima man charged after admitting to starting vehicle fire, damaging nearby property

Yakima police arrested a man after they say he admitted to starting a fire inside of a truck, causing damages to a home garage and another vehicle. Police received a dispatch call about a garage fire incident located at the 500 block of N. 16th Ave. at about 4:20 a.m. on Monday. A homeowner told an officer woke up to an alarm on his cellphone alerting that the motion sensors on his surveillance cameras were activated in the garage.

Fire officials go into every season looking at drought conditions, fuels, and how they will staff for fire seasons.

Spokane Valley crews respond to brush fire in Dishman Hills Conservation Area

Firefighters responded to the scene of a brush fire that broke out in the Dishman Hills Conservation Area. According to Spokane County Fire District 8, crews were working to mop up the 1/4 acre fire Tuesday afternoon. Crews from District 8, the Spokane Valley Fire Department and the Washington State Department of Natural resources responded to the scene.
